Time Lapse of Jan snowfall

Taken about 10:30am on Jan 29th
Taken about 3 hours later at 1:30pm same day

4:30pm & it's still snowing, can't hold kids off any longer, time to go play

Taken about noon on Jan 30th.
Notice the dips from the tracks the kids & Chris made the previous day.
They are filled in pretty good w/ the snow that continued to fall well into the night.

In Loving Memory

Chris's grandpa, Gilbert Craig, joined Chris's grandma, Cleo Craig, in heaven Jan. 26. They have 4 children that love & will miss them very much. 11 grandchildren & 19 great grandchildren that also love & will miss them.

We understand that Granny & Pa are very happy reunited in each others arm, but it doesn't make the pain any less.
You will never be forgotten, RIP.

June 7th

Our last day is now June 7th since we ended up being out of school all week long. If I'd only known I could've went w/ Chris to SC. He did say there was a great shopping mall right across the street from the hotel. Granted he didn't say the exact word great, but I'm sure it was. Christmas break ended up being 3 weeks, WOW! The time off was nice, but I was ready to get back to the grindstone of normal routines.

Snow Days & Airport Issues

One snow day down, one more tomorrow........they've already called school off which is nice because we can turn the alarms off. The kids are happy, probably won't be when they are making days up on June 1st & 2nd.

The pool covered with ice & then a layer of snow. I think it looks really cool (no pun intended).
Never to cold for a time to play on the swing set while outside.

Steph riding her new bike thru the snow. You can also see how much snow we got on the top of Chris's car.

Steph throwing a snow ball at Logan.

Logan's favorite thing to do while outside is to knock snow off dad's car. I remember having fun doing that when a kid too. Not sure why it's so much fun, but I'll bet Chris appreciates it when he gets home.

Chris had to fly to South Carolina for work & Mother Nature decided we needed snow filled roadsa pretty drive to XNA airport. We left 2 hours before his 10am flight. On a good day the drive only takes 20 min's. Of course he has to be there at least an hour early. There are two corners right before the entrance to the airport & a car had slid off the road & the wrecker was blocking both lanes so we had to wait about 30 min's for that. I made it back home all in one piece thank goodness. He waited on the runway for 2 hours because they were de-icing planes. He missed his connecting flight in Atlanta, Georgia because of that. He went for work, a training, not to look for work :) He'll be back home Saturday about noon. I saw on the news tonight that the low on Saturday morning is -6 YIKES!! Fridays low w/ wind chill is supose to be -25. I've already told Logan that he isn't doing car rider duty if we have school.

Coupons Galore

Who says you can't save money by using coupons? Well I decided to see how much money I actually save & to see if it's worth cutting all those coupons out. From July of 2009 thru the end of Dec 2009 I saved a total of $274.18. Not to shabby if you ask me. I will say that I do have a coupon system that works good for me. I look thru coupons first thing Sunday morning. If I don't do it then, it doesn't get done. My mother-in-law also gives me hers after she looks thru hers. I only cut out the ones that I know I use stuff for, or have been wanting to try. There seem to be a few that is always coming out like Suave shampoo, Tide, Crest toothpaste. I always cut those even if I don't need it at that time because I know I'll be needing some eventually. I have a little container that is like a basket (small & long). I have folded 8.5x11 papers in half & wrote on the top of each one the month. I sort my coupons by expiration date. Whenever I get ready to make a Walmart run I go thru my coupons & look for ones I want to use. Only con to this system is sometimes I know I've saved a coupon & it's got a date on it that is not that current month. Takes a bit longer to find. So I only end up taking into the store the ones I have planned on using, not my whole container & spend 14 hours looking thru my container for coupons I know is in there. Also makes throwing out the expired ones a breeze. First day of the following month I just pick up the whole previous months & toss. No need to look thru them & boo hoo about what I missed out on, ya know. Anyways just wanted to document how much I've saved.

Two Oh One Oh

Happy New Year! Out with old & in with the new. So I have been thinking........I don't like making resolutions so I think :) I am really going to try decluttering my life house. Also get more organized. I'll be honest, I have so many piles of papers that I "might" need sometime. Seriously there has to be some other way I can manage the accumulation of the massive heaps of papers piles. It's a pretty sad day when one of your Christmas gifts from your 14 & half year old daughter is an accordian file box & I quote "so you can find your important papers & not have to look all over the house". Don't get me wrong I really do love the file box, it's all pretty w/ pink, brown, white, & green stripes & maybe just maybe it's a gift that changed it all. Well we can all hope right, it is a new decade.

So what are your New Year's Resoultions? I'd offer a little random drawing for all comments but you probably won't want an expired pizza coupon or newspaper clipping I have ran across in all my decluttering huh? LOL

I hope this coming year is a great one for you!
